ABSTRACT: Two character traits associated with… [Diabetes Res Clin Pract. 2012] – PubMed – NCBI

Abstract
Adherence is defined as the adequacy between the behaviours of patients and their medical prescriptions. Adherence is a general behaviour, which can explain why patients in the placebo arm of randomised clinical trials have a lower mortality rate when they are adherent. We propose that this behaviour is related to two character traits: patience (capacity to give priority to the future) and, more provocatively, obedience.
